Thanks for your thoughts. I like the "Saxonian Ping-Pong" analogy.
It is not feasible though imo. Playing this game would only allow for amortization periods of three years or so. (I certainly cannot dispute migrations are possible even in an running production fab - AMD has demonstrated it twice recently. However, it is a relatively costly way of manufucturing high volume parts.)
