ASUS, Samsung or Toshiba are good (imo) but it really depends on what you need it for.

Most laptops (like cars) are quite acceptable except personally I avoid ACER but that is just me. A salesperson told me once just get whatever is cheapest on sale and you will most probably be happy with it.
