One point I like to return to as often as I can is as follows:

Buying IDCC for cash ($20 Billion or more) would be a poor use of resources. This type of a cash horde is far too important to support future operations. The more logical way would be 'purchase' through an exchange of Stock. This would also be far better from an accounting basis (Balance Sheet).
