The Argus one is multi-celled to shift around the gases to greatly improve and enhance flight stability. One of the advantages in doing so is the Argus One can lift off perfectly vertically like a Harrier as opposed to the German design that had to be pulled forward to gain altitude for lift-off.
The engine has been totally revamped to overcome two key German defects. Multiple backup restart on stall capabilities to avoid crashes, complete muffling, and a 40 km/hr speed vs. the German 5 km/hr. She has performed admirably last week in 7 touch and gos in 20 mph winds with remarkable stability.
