For a long time (maybe still) the product was nowhere near the verge of being released. So insider information would have been very useful for just flipping the stock, just like any other penny. Even if they wanted to accumulate it's still great to know whenever a PR is coming or when one is not coming for a long time. Averaging 2c will make you far more money than averaging 6. But all that is just speculation, we still have no real info at all, nothing other than that one, fairly vague, AMF release.
