Sonic22...MO....both IDCC and NOK have had a VERY good idea for the last couple of months where the award was headed. The scorched earth policy that NOK undertook said we have to find a way out of this. Discussions were probably taking place and things stalled, shortly after stalling out you saw the departures at the top with IDCC mgmt. I would guess within hours Merritt was on the phone rekindling talks. There could very likely have been a framework for 2G and 3G deal put in place within the last two weeks with the understanding that the total package could/would be adjusted dependent on the ACTUAL award amount that the ICC came up with. The award was dispatched at the end of business on 5/31/05 and sent via DHL to both parties attornies. 6/1 both companies attornies received the notification and discussed with their clients the actual result. Now it will take a few days to a week to finalize the deal from the framework that had been put in place over the last two weeks. Announcement sometime in the next two weeks....All of the above just a WAG...
