Guys, guys I'm not trying to poo poo the whole thing, but just want to keep myself grounded a bit. I added another 5000 shares this week in fact. If 'we' can see this is worth billions, etc. so can everyone else and everyone else won't just be sitting on their ass waiting to pay us. They will spend inordinant sums to work around patents, develop new methods, etc. Pls remember that we do not yet have an actual court decision yet [I don't think so anyway]. Large companies seem to have a way of embroiling smaller ones in litigation and patent challenges. IF this gets real serious, do not be schocked that the Microsoft's of the world would not hesitate a millisecond to run us thru the ringer. Yes, things look very promising right now, but Murphy's law has a way of striking when you least expect. Care to let us know how old the patents are and how long patents provide the 'protection' they do? I think I remember 1996 as one of the foundational patents. Anyway, if that is true, it will come off patent in another 6/7 years or so. Many others are newer, but ... we still have no decisions [other than a default judgement because the other guy went belly up] in any of the court cases.
Yes, I too believe in the REVOLUTION this can represent, but there are always roadblocks. GOOG and MSFT have MEGA resources at their disposal, not just a wierd line of credit or a dilutionary financing scheme.
So what's my point? This will take a LOOOOONG time to come to fruition in a meaningful way, IMO. Took regular old bar codes a very long time. There seem to be a lot of folks here counting their chickens - a tad too early in my view. I'm in for some profit, but not forever. My best bet is that GOOG, MSFT, IBM, et.al. buy this baby out at a handsome profit.
Still waiting on the Virgin deal to see what they really get and what it is really worth to Virgin. This will be KEY. And as I said before all this will really require to be more than a passing fad is the useful CONVERGENCE of numerous factors, which the company has set into motion. But i don't think the company will get that far. It will either 1. get embroiled in litigation with everyone, or 2. get taken out in a buy out or 3. get bypassed by the big boys designing around or coming up with something else. Something else ALWAYS happens, ultimately. My bet is on the buy-out scenario.
My 2 cents.
