I'm actually serious about this next conspiracy type statement. But I believe having the microsoft updater active allows a open backdoor for microsoft to constantly check your computer for their software and if you are pirating their software. A jillion different viruses use this very same technique to call home on the internet and to update themselves completely without the user knowing its going on.

Not hard for microshit to do that. That's basically what mf's updater does, and since you have to have your firewall accept it as a server etc, how would one know when they do anything on your system. You really don't. Unless you actually have a couple of packet sniffers going as well.
