Funny, I was thinking the same thing when I checked out their webite the first time you posted it. Sounds very much like PTI's battery and yet they claim that its technology invented by Caterpillar. Hmm.

Read a good article last week on patents and how theyre being infringed upon and how the government cant keep up with the requests and how every little thing is patentable (or patented already) these days. (I was shocked at the items they mentioned in the article that had been patented). It was about the software industry but I think the general jist of the story can apply to any industry. The writer of the story had one of his own patents 'stolen' by a large computer conglamorate (something he had patented years earlier). He found out, filed a complaint and the other company lost their patent. It just goes to show you how many patent applications are being pushed through without really doing the proper infringement searches.
