What is the time difference between Paris and New York, 6 hours? (I'm never sure how to adjust for Daylight Savings Time, or if they even do that in France?)

Reason I ask is trying to guess how the ICC Award notice might get rendered today.

If the ICC is going to keep their word and render their "Final Award" notification "not later than May 31",

and if the "top brass" at the ICC Court of Arbitration HQ in Paris meets once a month on the last Friday,

and if the Final Award in Nokia vs InterDigital requires a final approval by that "top brass" before notice is rendered,

then, TODAY is THE DAY for them to "Get'er Done"!

Will that Final Award notification come directly from Paris HQ to each party, or will Paris notify the ICC Commission where the arbitration was conducted, and let that office serve notice to the parties?

ICC's New York commission office was responsible for conducting the Nokia vs InterDigital arbitration, and we have been told they meet each Friday, so that's where my "time difference" question came up.

Whether the time difference is 5, 6 or 7 hours, it seems like the folks in Paris should be about done giving their final approvals right now. That would mean that ICC's New York commission office will have all day to complete anything they might need to do.

So, sure seems like TODAY should be THE DAY!

How long will InterDigital's mgmt team take before making the Final Award results known? How long will Nokia take before issuing their own disclosure? Will the two parties TALK to each other before doing whatever they plan to do about public disclosure? How long might that take, how long can that be ALLOWED to take, before public disclosure?

Are the parties in contact and negotiating what and how they plan to resolve things once an award notice is rendered? Do they have an acceptable agreement in place for trading off some of the 2G award proceeds for a 3G agreement AND a "win/win" joint release?

IMO that would be a smart thing to do, and Bill Merritt is a smart guy, so.... maybe a few more days of silence could mean that Jorma is also a smart guy.
