the company owes us nothing. we don't want shares from the company. the only way the company could do that would be thru dilution of biblical proportions and our shares would be worthless.
i bet it's the tranfer agent that gets the first blame, mistake in procedure.
broker gets second blame, didn't check x-date so didn't recognize a short when he handled it.
the selling individual will get third blame for being stupid or greedy.
all things multiply to the point of starvation.
