3DIcon Joins 3D@Home Consortium as Founding Member

TULSA, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--3DIcon Corporation (OTCBB:TDCP - News), a development-stage technology company, today announced that it is a founding member of 3D@Home Consortium, a new industry trade group promoting the commercialization of 3D technologies. Other founding members include Philips, Samsung, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, IMAX, Fraunhofer Institute IMPS, Corning, SeeReal, 3ality, DDD, In-Three, and Universal Studios Home Entertainment.The 3D@Home Consortium’s mission is to speed the commercialization of 3D into homes worldwide and to provide the best possible viewing experience by facilitating the development of standards, roadmaps, and education for the entire 3D industry–from content, hardware, and software providers to consumers.
“The evolution of the 3D industry requires collective effort across the entire 3D ecosystem. We look forward to working with 3D@Home to further the push for standards, education, and industry advocacy,” said Martin Keating, chairman and CEO of 3DIcon.

“3DIcon is one of a handful of companies focused on the development and adoption of volumetric 3D. We expect to gain from and contribute to the consortium’s efforts to accelerate the establishment and growth of the 3D industry,” added 3DIcon President Vivek Bhaman.
