I own a Asus eee PC 1001p netbook. A week or so ago it was inadvertently dropped and when I opened it up there was a crack going across the screen. It also had problems booting up. So I’m now in the process of damage assessment – do I repair this unit or just use it for spare parts?

I opened up the unit and could not find any obvious damage beyond the screen. I removed the hard drive and using an external dock put it through a scan to fix any issues.

After putting the unit back together everything works fine with one really big exception – all processes are super slow. For example, it takes many minutes simply to boot up or shut down.

Based on these symptoms I would be grateful if anyone can tell me what else is wrong with this unit, particularly what parts might be damaged.

Many thanks,

hiker
