Yes it is very interesting. Sounds like Apple could learn a few things from Dom. It is clear Apple is going at this with old ideas. Dom put it well they are also the old guard so to speak, part of the establishment. One that clearly needs to change.
RTGV could end up bigger than any of us expect. It certainly has the potential.

Dom comments on the disruptive technology today

Today, I looked under the bonnet (hood) of the CloudChannel system that we’re building at our unit in Ukraine. Even though I specified and designed the system, I was literally blown away with how our super-talented technical team has made some really complicated processes seem so simple. We’re creating something truly unique and at the heart of it is the ethos of content portability.

The right people to be promoting music are the people that love it the most, fans. These are our soldiers in the revolution that will create the People’s Republic of Music. The revolution is all about creating more meaningful links between artists and their fan bases and there are many other companies building tools to drive the revolution too. CloudChannel will be our face in that revolution, but Audigist is an important piece of the jigsaw too.

Audigist is about music at grass roots level. Pure creativity from performers, unbiased by focus groups, songwriting strategies or formulaic approaches to manufacturing hits. Supporting an Audigist artist is supporting the real thing and if you buy a song on Audigist, you can play it on any device you like. You can send friends samples, links and more. Soon, fans will play a much bigger role in the Audigist story and while it might never cause an iTunes employee a single sleepless night, the revolution has started and I’m pleased to be a part of it. It’s time the old guard embraced how consumers want to engage with content rather than trying to control it. Are we content that we can play our music on any Apple device? No.
