NEWS FLASH FOR EVERYONE - MUST READ EVERYTHING

Majority of Paid Apps on Android Downloaded Less than 100 Times

Paid Apps: 80% Downloaded Less Than 100 Times
In looking at the paid applications, downloads are even lower. While 24.8% of all free apps have been downloaded less than 100 times, 79.3% of paid apps are at this same level. Says Distimo, these figures reveal just how challenging it has been for Android developers to monetize their mobile applications. And it may also be why developers are using advertising in their apps instead.

ONLY 0.1% OF ALL PAID APPS BREAKS BARELY 50,000 SALES !!!!
This includes a vast majority of highly useful apps as well. You guys will be in for a surprise if you think PhoneGuard will sell more than 50k copies on the Android Market, and it probably wont sell even that. You need to compare it to the current app listings.

Very popular triple A apps don't even come CLOSE to selling 250k downloads. In fact go to the Android Market and sort the apps by downloads or go to "top paid". The top 5 PAID apps are:

1) Titanium Backup Pro - $6.88 - 78653 downloads
2) Root Explorer - $3.99 - 110246 downloads
3) Rom Manager - $5.86 - 185798 downloads
4) PicSay Pro - $3.99 - 89449 downloads
5) Beautiful Widgets - $2.89 - 289564 downloads

And this is over the course of YEARS

Notice their pricing and their downloads. Should we REALLY believe that Phoneguard, with its hefty price tag, will even reach 50k like these much cheaper, more used apps? It would take 5 years before OPMG sells 50k copies and by then I'm sure there will be better apps, different phones and operating systems out there.

I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if Phoneguard sells 10k copies in its first year. Come on people, you are all being extremely irrational when it comes to how many copies of the app will be sold. Don't give me the Justin Bieber thing either, go to his Facebook post about Phoneguard and look at his comments. 99% of them are "I LOVE YOUUUUU JB" posts. None of JB's followers even cared about Phoneguard and I'm sure none will buy it for $30.

To the people saying "If Phoneguard even sells 500k copies then (insert random numbers here)" I can't help myself but laugh at those ridiculous statements. When the numbers finally come in they will be extremely underwhelming.

You guys really need to start using 50,000 sold x $29.99 as a basis for revenue because anything above that is COMPLETELY INFLATED.

Oh and to quote someone from the board "we should see the biggest number of units sold during the first 3 months, meaning 500,000 or even 1,000,000 pr 10,000,000" You are WAY OFF. you are saying that in 3 months, Phoneguard might sell more than EVERY PAID APP COMBINED? LOL, like that's going to happen.

I guarantee no one can debunk this info, its all out there for everyone to see and I am surprised no one has brought it up.

Neither Justin Bieber or "Saving lives" will cause people to buy this app. There is a VERY limited market here. Only a parent would buy this app, that parent must have kids, the kids must have cell phones, and the kids must have a car, the kid has to be between the age of 15-17, because at 18 you can't legally force anything upon them and I bet they wont want their phone locked, but the most important factor is that the parent has to actually CARE and be willing to do it. After all the math is done you are left with a very pathetic percentage. This app is VERY SITUATIONAL, and couple that with the paltry numbers for android paid app sales and you have a recipe for a major FLOP.

Expect to see the bashers reply to this with no comeback other than insults or the typical (out of shares? short seller? basher?) replies. You can't debunk this solid DD. Don't worry, I will gladly TOS all of them!
