In the Bear deal the value of the shares were worth $10, not money on the table. JPM swapped stock for Bear stock. The value was $2, when shareholders decided they were going to force a class action lawsuit against Morgan, they capitulated and extended the offer to $10 for the swap. Bear stockholders became JPM stockholders.

In WMI, the amount of your shares you receive in the new reorganized entity will depend entirely upon the calaculation of old shares for new shares. In the meantime before confirmation, the shares may keep increasing at 10% dialy, by the time we get to confirmation we could be easily 1000% what we are now.
