I stand by my statement until I am proven wrong. I did see that a stock was halted while in bankruptcy though. It halted because it was still being traded and the company stated that there would be no value for commons even under the most optimistic scenarios after it emerged from bk through the liquidation process.
Commons are intact here, so there will be no halt until the judge approves emerging from bk. My example is gmgm#.
