~!~ I think they're there because the broker is waiting for you to pay a fee for something you never ordered, never wanted and never were going to be able to sell because sandy lied to remove them from your account. I believe brokers charge a fee to delete shares from the accounts. I also think a broker can take possession if you facilitate a removal, or something like that.. which could mean the broker could still make money off those shares?
