LPT1 recognition problem - I am trying to install a printer and I keep getting the message that it is not finding the printer on the LPT1 port. I have switched cables, reinstalled the port (which does work according to the device manager) and tried about everything I know to try. The printer was working just fine before I tried to install it on this computer. Any suggestions?

I ordered a "Lind" auto/air adaptor. It is on the dell website but I ordered it from Lind b/c they could also send me a longer cord so it could be used in the back seat. Thanks for your help with that.
