Unless Apple moves away from the existing stack, IDCC would make money on both license and chipset. Did you hear otherwise other than the rumors at this point? I would rather wait for iphone5 and the dissection that follows that before I start questioning the money that IDCC will be getting.
I know bunch of people questioned IDCC's role in iphone 3g and found otherwise when it was actually released.
