For the same reason that those that did not take their profits at 17.5, 17, 16.5, 16, 15.5 etc will have to wait for the events you mentioned. An yes, those events will happen, and yes those events will again have a positive, more moderated, impact on the stock price. In after hours yesterday AMRN has been as low as 15.00$ and closed at 15.09$ That's awfully close to where you expect to find a lot of stop losses. At 15$ the stock is about 2.5$ away from it's highest point since APR 18 and makes people think to play it save. For market makers that are opportunities to apply "wash and rinse", pulling the stock to 14.25$ then let it play again just below or around 15$ and make a ton of money in the process.

The argumentation was aimed at saying if you take profits after a big rise and then after the well known, not AMRN specific, back movement buy back in then you lock in profits without spending money to protective Puts. The MAY 20 was based on the 3rd Friday option expiration (and actually also some warrant pressure and share dumps such as Orbimed's about 3 million shares in a couple of hours) that will, together with 'non-investors' that take their profits more rapidly press on the AMRN share price. Is their a risk to be left in dust as you called it? Yes, but it balances against locking in and potentially increasing your profits and still be able to be back in for moves up.

AMRN has much more potential and this stock is going to be played, whether investors want it or not, because it's price will move in waves from good news over profit taking and so on and it will benefit from a period of low risk for sudden (as in over 24 hours) substantial price drops. So the post i wrote merely wanted to say that the down wave very probably will be until around MAY 20, for the given reasons which i acknowledge may be wrong, and that after that the stock may turn up again.

Did it occur to you that the AMRN news was released in early morning, market pre-hours, on APR 18, after APR 15 (3rd Friday of April), which points toward a possible option awareness at Amarine BOD/management. It is my believe, and i emphasize the word 'believe', that we will see more important announcements just before or just after the 3rd Fridays.
