BACKGROUND*
John E. McConnaughy, Jr. founded JEMC Corporation in 1985 and has been its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 1988. Mr. McConnaughy served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GEO International Corp. from 1981 to 1992. From 1985 to his retirement in October 1992, Mr. McConnaughy served as the President of GEO International Corp. He served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Peabody International Corp. from 1969 to February 1986. His career ... includes positions of management with Westinghouse Electric and the Singer Company. Mr. McConnaughy serves as an Interim Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Strang Cancer Prevention Center. Mr. McConnaughy served as the Chairman of Excellence Group LLC. He has been a Director of Transact International Inc. since 1978 and Wave Systems Corp. since 1988. Mr. McConnaughy serves as a Director of Texstar Corporation, MAI Corporation, Akzona Corp., First Bank Corp. (New Haven), Beringer Co., Inc., the Pullman Co., Moore McCormack Resources and Trasact International, Inc., Varsity Sports, Inc., Mego Corporation, Mego Financial Corporation, Riddell Sports Inc., Ratexchange Corp., and one private company (PetsChoice, Ltd.).
