An Institution Buying?
That is what I think drives these sudden jumps, followed by slow decay. A fund decides to take a position or add to their existing position. They say, yea, let's go get a couple hundred thousand shares. And they are not that concerned with trying to do it slowly so as not to raise the price. Quite honestly, they don't have the time or inclination to screw around with it. They just want the shares and go get them. Meanwhile, everyone thinks "somethin's up" and jumps in also. I am not saying it is a bad thing, just that it is not sustainable.
