Laranger: Janet Point Is "SOMEHWAT SURPRISED"???

Well, with any and all due respect, it seems to me hard to believe that if she is really surprised that the stock is getting slaughtered.

Geez, we are ALL waiting news about what everyone believes may be a true "watershed event" and IDCC announces the sudden and un expected/unanticipated departure of COO and CEO and she is "surprised" at the reaction of the market?

There was a LOT that preceded the departures of Carly F and M Eisner--neither departure could be surprising or unanticipated. Comparing that to this is absurd.

As to her statement that there is no news about NOK, well, if it is to be believed, I guess we have to settle for no news being, well, no news, and certainly maybe it is good news considering the alternative.

Still it seems unusual timing. And it seems unusual to PROMOTE Merritt before seeing what happens with the arb. If he comes in as new CEO and within days or weeks the arb decision comes out and is bad, well, that can't be a great way to start particularly since as President of ITC and General Patent Counsel, one would have to wonder what role he played and if it is a defeat that's like starting out with two strikes and no balls in the count....

But I can't get over the statement that she is "Somewhat surprised" maybe that doesn't fully express the flavor of the conversation??? Can you give us any more details laranger? Thanks for the dilligence and for sharing!
