"The market is never wrong."

I wasn't attempting to needle someone at all. The rest was some kind of dialogue in the wrong direction completely. If you chuckled maybe you would care to share why.

And, I am not in agreement that it was a "Very nice post, well thought out, very articulate, and absolutely correct."

As you will see, it has nothing to do in any logical sense with "...perhaps markets are different down under...."

And, finally, it has nothing to do with< " That news came out after the market closed on Friday. Let's see what the reaction is on Monday before drawing conclusion"

So what is the meaning of the statement? It was purposely set for a reason. It may or may not become apparent. Makes no difference.

If I would have given the direct quote at first, I guarantee you there wouldn't be any snide rebuttals. Since I didn't some didn't take the time to ask what was exactly meant or how it relates. They didn't care, obviously. As long as it appeared to be my own thought, it was worth the divergence.

However, if any of you care to check up on it, please read Dr. Stephen M. Cooper's book, "Windows to Wealth - How to Chart Your Way to Financial Freedom," And, I quote from pages 48 and 49 of the book.

"If you think a stock is going to go up it does not matter. If you think a stock will go down it does not matter. If does not matter if you think you are right. The market does not care one whit what you think or feel. The market is unconcerned if you become a millionaire or go broke. The stock market is neutral as to you or me.

The stock market is completely arrogant and self absorbed on this point...

"The Market is Always Right"

There are no exceptions or breaks for beginners.

---------------------------------------------------

A Dose of Reality

If you think a stock should go up but it doesn't...you are wrong.

If you think a stock should have gone down but it didn't...you were wrong.

It is not possible for the market to move the wrong way.

The Market is always right!"
-------------
If the Market is always right, then, The Market is never wrong!

So why would one write, "Good luck with that 'never wrong' thesis." without understanding from whence it came?

------------------------

If the Market is always right, then, The Market is never wrong!

IMO.

G'day, Mate.
