"Once the transgenic organism is producing silk its’ off spring will bear those exact traits and some will not. What we do in next generation is weed out those who don’t bear the traits, and eventually a pure strain exists. Its’ called homozygocity, meaning all organisms express the same trait, it takes a number of screenings to achieve this."
