Yes the science to get the silk worm that has been genetically altered is very complex. But it is my understanding that once you have that "new worm," it is expressed in all subsequent generations. So get them to reproduce and you have kept the transgenic going. That seems pretty simple once you get the worm.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
