So I guess approval for Copaxone is years away. Why else would the incentive be to get the approval after such long drawn period?

Nonsense. This sounds like the kind of logical fallacy posted by zipjet in the thread where it was claimed that a manufacturing deficiency at an unrelated factory in Israel was the reason the FDA hasn’t approved Teva’s Lovenox ANDA.

Have you ever heard of companies’ developing a five-year plan? Well, that’s what this is. If Copaxone is approved in the next four years, management gets a nice bonus in the form of restricted stock, half of it vested on the date of approval and half vested one year later. This doesn’t say anything in particular about when the FDA will render a decision on generic Copaxone.
