Jet, did you read the news release of yesterday carefully? It states with my parentheses added: " The provisional patent application is for an unmanned autonomous airship with automated control for individual modules(segments) for improved flight stability and aerodynamic control.The design features the ability to control the rigidity between each module(segment)and the ability to pivot.

The airships altitude, overall response, and handling characteristics and flight control utilizes a system of ballonets contained within each individual module(segment)thereby creating a dynamically adjustable airship".

Sounds like a radical modification of the STS-111 to me.Is it radical enough to apply for a unique patent? Evidently Eastcor thinks so.
In the news release of 27 Sept., 2010 the picture of the STS-111 appears to me to show ballonets in each segment that you can see. I could be wrong but it appears that you can see the shadows of the ballonets at the top of the segments.
Quite a sophisticated little machine in my opinion!
