VBINX is a balanced fund Larry, 60% stocks, 40% bonds.

If AIM'd 50-50 that's (initially) 30% stocks, 20% bonds, 50% cash, that potentially captures some price appreciation, income and volatility/rebalance benefits via a widely diversified single low-(expense)-cost-stock, once per month 5 minute effort AIM.
