I am not too smart on this stuff but I would have to think this is Knobbe and PL's way of forcing SL out, not the shareholders. If Knobbe is a reputable attorney in this field which I believe they are, they do not want "bad press" on this matter. It would certainly be in their best interest to look good and be "heroes" to many people. Also, they could possibly be planted in a lawsuit right along with Paul if this was shady. Again, I am not too up on litigation and I am not a big fan of attorneys and many times due process but it seems to me that this is what the goal of the banruptcy is all about.
