No, no, x-point. I’m sorry I must not have been clear.

If that is true, then we are back to the initial difficulty: If the domains are not secure, why deploy virtualization? All that effort just to make it somewhat more difficult to compromise important data?


I meant, “Given that we now know that HAP is needed to make virtualization domains secure, what’s the point of deploying virtualization without HAP?” Without HAP, virtualization appears to be a lot of effort for a small return.

In other words, “Why would HAP (or something similar using Trusted Computing standards) not be widely adopted, since it is needed for virtualization to be worth doing?” (I hope the answer isn't that IT people still aren't getting the Trusting Computing message and are still happy to deploy inferior “solutions.”)
