Winter is back. This morning's snow level is dipping down to 1500 feet in spots in the Coast Range, as well as the Cascades. The major snow event for the Cascades will continue today--another foot of snow possible by tomorrow morning. A Winter Storm Warning is posted for the Oregon and S.W. Washington Cascades.
Prepare for a wet day in the lower elevations. Rain turns to showers in the valley this afternoon. Some hailstorms are possible. Coastal residents wil likely see thunderstorms rumbling through at times. Daytime highs will stay in the mid 40s. Tonight, showers and overnight lows in the upper 30s.
The snow level is likely to drop all the way to 1000 feet by tomorrow night. Portland/Vancouver/Salem residents in the higher hills are likely to see at least a dusting of snow this week or weekend.. as weaker storm systems pass through a very cold layer of air draped over the Willamette Valley and S.W. Washington.
