These very humble people literally live three days walk back in the jungle. They are being manipulated and told that the mine will be a big hole filled with explosives that will blow up and kill all of them. I expect the government to take action soon against those who are using them.
I have lived north, south, east, but never in Asia, or the Middle East. I lived with dictators, left wing and right wing, communists, socialists, theocracies, and every other kind you can name. Seventeen countries.
Not much difference with extreme right or extreme left...just who lives in the big houses. Both suck for the average person. I was in Chile with the Christian Democrats, (center left),then the communists, (Allende), and then Pinochet, (extreme right). I stayed out of the politics. I do know first hand that central control does not work; people need to have a vested interest and get to keep what they earn.
