Whitewash--Manufactured expectations and Rational discourse. Usually when I disagree with a post, I usually try to paste verbatim those parts I disagree with. I do so because all too frequently heated exchanges are the result of very serious miscommunications. Poster 1 argues position A, Poster 2 ignores Position A but does not hesitate to counter-argue with points(often of a personal nature) never made by Poster 1.
If you review the posts I simply argued that this board needs to be careful about creating high expectations without substantive support. That is all I said! And yet somehow it morphed into an entirely different discussion: Something about my arrogance in my claim of "Getting it" better than others. I may be arrogant, but that had nothing to do with the matter under discussion.
I was bothered by the expectations that surrounded Dutton; and I'm bothered by the growing expectations now surrounding Winhec. Now certainly the high expectations about Winhec are much more grounded in reality than Dutton. Regardless, we need to be more careful in how we calibrate the parameters of those expectations(by the way, this sentence makes little sense; it is gibberish; but will probably sound "smart" to many, so I'm keeping it in! lol!).
