To further my point, I think that is exactly the way other companies have failed, in an "index jump", to make the jump with expectations as you've described, but not having a history of "exellence".......I believe these larger investors you describe, have only gotten to a higher status, through very shrewd investment over time, with a staff of many thousands that investigate such "buying", every day. Names like Vanguard, Putnam, BlackRock, etc, have only achieved their stardom, by checking on a company's worth and background history thoroughly, before buying a huge chunk......I believe at this point in time, EBIG could cause one of the two spinoffs to finalize, with the snap of their fingers........I'm interested in how others out there see this "picture". I know we all would like the PPS to get higher, but we also would like the spinoffs in our "pockets". Don't forget about the full year we must hold them, until "tradeable".
