The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is requesting information and conducting market research of Shoe Scanner Detection (SSD) systems for the screening of airline passengers. The preliminary goal for the SSD is a system capable of detecting threat objects that might be concealed in shoes (or any type of footwear) without requiring passengers to remove their shoes. These threat objects include a wide variety of military, commercial, and homemade explosives or explosives devices, as well as weapons or parts of weapons. TSA invites voluntary participation to provide information on capabilities of detection technologies to determine the viability of current industry solutions for the secure processing of passengers’ footwear.

MagShoe DOES NOT have explosive capability!

Again I ask of what use is it to scan for metal in a shoe when there could also be plastic explosives etc.?
