SOUTHLAKE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Geos Communications™, Inc. (OTCBB: GCMI), a leading developer and distributor of mobile applications and services, today announced that the Company has appointed Cynthia T. Gordon as its Chief Financial Officer effective January 7, 2011.

Cynthia has over 20 years experience in finance and accounting, including management positions in auditing, SEC reporting, treasury, strategic planning and analysis, budgeting, accounting operations, compliance and investor relations. Previous to joining Geos Communications, she spent approximately 15 years with Zale Corporation (“Zale”), publicly traded and one of North America’s largest specialty retailers of fine jewelry with approximately $1.6 billion in revenue. At Zale, Ms. Gordon most recently held the position of Interim Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President, Controller, where she had responsibility for treasury, investor relations, Zale’s proprietary credit card and all accounting functions. Prior to being appointed Interim CFO, Cynthia held the position of Senior Vice President, Controller of Zale from March 2003 – January 2009 and was responsible for all accounting, SEC reporting, internal audit and Sarbanes Oxley functions. In this position, she successfully identified and led cost cutting initiatives, including strategic realignment of the organization. She also held the positions of Vice President, Planning and Analysis, Senior Director, Investor Relations, and Director of Treasury while working at Zale. Before her tenure at Zale she was the Director for External Reporting and Investor Relations for A Pea in the Pod, Inc. during which time the company underwent its initial public offering. From 1986 – 1993, she held various auditing positions for Ernst & Young, LLC. She received her BA degree in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and received her CPA license in the state of Texas.
