Everyone has to understand some "facts"....
1.) Judge Mary was a politican before becoming a judge.
2.) She is also a political appointee which party does not matter.
3.) Political appointees are not necesarily the brightest bulbs as demonstrated by her opinions as well as other politicians. This may explain previous rulings i.e. EC and Examiner.
4.) She also knows how and why she is where she is and I am sure she has been reminded of it many times.
5.) Her view point will have a decided political slant to the situation because she is a political animal and you can read whatever you want into that facet.
6.) Unless there is a settlement, what she decides could be mired in politics as much as the law.
7.) Knowing all of this... I sincerely hope we have a settlement before she gets a chance to rule on this case.
