Follow-up on BitLocker/TPM on my work computer.

This morning I received the following message from IT support at my work:

Last night, during regular maintenance on your computer by one of our technicians, BitLocker (the security tool that we have enabled to protect staff and faculty computers) locked your computer from further use. That meant that unless we had the 32 character key, BitLocker will not allow anyone to use the computer. Unfortunately, our system was unable to provide us with the BitLocker key for your computer in particular. This meant that in order to provide you with a working desktop computer when you come in on Monday, we are doing an emergency computer rebuild. ...

When I last left my computer I know the TPM was on. It will be interesting to see if the HD is now a brick.

I also asked them to make sure they turn on the TPM after the rebuild. The IT support guy replied that ALL computers at my work place have the TPM enabled.

This may be boring to others, however, I find it interesting.
