You are treating your situation correctly. I wonder how often accidents happens, once the human body does not get enough rest?
One time in Manhattan, NY. I had an overnight shift. Couldn't get access to coffee. Toward the last hours, I struggled to stay awake. Stood up to be more alert. Walked around wobbly.
