Getting those reports here too. Had a conversation with friends over the weekend about the rising fuel prices. One person said he'd heard back in the early 90's that present oil reserves would not last past 2010! This comment apparently from an oil company spokesman. It got us to discussing what the alternatives are. Certainly cars and trains can go to battery power. Large boats would probably have to resort to steam again (small boats could use battery power). But the biggie was airline travel - what is their alternative fuel source? Pretty hard to stash enough batteries in the cargo hold to make a plane fly!
