Even though the technology has been around for years, and in varied forms (back in Jack Nicholson's day he worked with a car company that ran vehicles on hydrogen & was totally sustainable-- using Silicon Solar Panels to produce the hydrogen in fact...):

There are companies here in Europe that use HHO technology (gas here is about 3times more expensive than in the US historically & so the incentive is greater for economy & savings), companies that run on COMPRESSED AIR alone here in Europe as well-- France, for example. Even the ELECTRIC car dates back to the original VOLT in the 70's and was beloved by consumers & celebrities alike; (See WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR?)

This is such a seemingly simplistic question, yet the answer is quite complex. Politics, oil companies, auto industry, the economic consumer-driven model & a host of other factors all play a role here. In the end, until fossil fuels are nearly depleted the powers that be will not easily relinquish their golden goose!!

So, even though there may be better, more sustainable, fueling options available RIGHT NOW:

HLNT is emerging as a market leader with the RIGHT PRODUCT at the RIGHT TIME!! Note that although there is competition from other manufactures of similar technology, HLNT (according to my research) has the most efficient & productive model to this point. Their product is HYBRID-NOW Technology, slap one on your engine & you experience benefits right away. The other technologies will take some time to grab a foothold while HLNT brings immediate savings & improvements.

Therefore, the short answer for me is that HLNT currently has the best VERSION of what can be easily installed on what people drive/use now, with the greatest savings at the cheapest price.
