To All,
With regret, I have made the decision not to moderate this board any longer. There are two reasons that have caused this move which I have debated over for months now.
1) The amount of time I have been spending with deletions and answering questions as to why they are deleted via e-mail or private mail is more than I care to deal with. My time is valuable to me and I consider all the babysitting a major waste of my time. I refuse to wade through posts on certain topics that have been beat to death for years, the majority of posters here feel the same way.
2) The forum here does not provide me the authority I need/want to regulate the topics discussed.
I applaud I-Hub for this forum and Matt, the administrator, has been great to work with and I thank him for that. As many of you know I have a format that I want to follow for a GTEL information board. That format does not include many items that are discussed here on a daily basis. Other boards are living proof that certain things have to be separated into different forums or it just doesn't work. I certainly do not blame I-Hub and I certainly am not blaming any one here. I put a lot of time and effort into providing information to this board for everyones use and I will not watch it deteriorate, period. I have had a ton of support from folks here that are expecting to see what we once had, of late the e-mail box is full of "What is happening to the board?"
I plan on being here on and off this weekend but will discontinue my posting here Sunday evening. I may or may not be opening a private site in the future, I have to give it some thought. If I do the word will get out some way.
I am more optimistic than I have ever been about GTEL. Nothing has changed in that regard and has absolutely nothing to do with my leaving. When I hear back from I-Hub I will let you know how the change in moderator works, at this time I have no idea. A special thanks to "cab and bltra" for being assistants to the board, it was appreciated. Thank you all very much for your past support and friendships. There is a group of posters here who are second to none and I will miss the great discussions. Take care and thanks again for helping me make the board what it was...rock
