SEC has no authority to tell a company what kind of info they can disseminate when a company is under investigation??? Or, the company won't withhold releasing anything until the inquiry is over? You're kidding, right???

The enforcement authority given by Congress allows the SEC to bring civil enforcement actions against individuals or companies alleged to have committed accounting fraud, provided false information, or engaged in insider trading or other violations of the securities law.

They don't even need a court order for an injunction/civil enforcement. Congress granted them the power. Corporate law is a "hobby."
