OT: Crock Pots and Pierogies

Hi Conrad:

This is what Crock Pots looked like over 30 years ago. It was a typical gift to give for weddings, so not unusual for the happy couple to receive more than one (we got 7 at our wedding!).

Essentially it is a stoneware crock surrounded by an electric heater. Used for slow cooking.
Nowadays they are larger. This is what ours looks like today.

As for Pierogies...
...might have been a chance to eat pirogues. . .(isc ????)
I never did taste these snack. . .or are the main dinner elements

Well then you missed a good dish (many choices).

Of course we've lived in Texas for the last 26 years, but we do have a great Polish Restaurant nearby.
Some of the more popular items on their menu include:
Pierogi – many types and flavors,
Galabki – stuffed cabbage with tomato sauce,
Bigos – Polish hunters’ stew based on cooked sauerkraut,
Polish sausage
Pork cutlets
Here is a link to their website...

So if you do come to the US, and make your way to the Dallas area, you are certainly welcome to stop in for a visit. We'll go to the 'For You' restaurant and have us a Texas Size Polish Feast!
Y'all Betcha we will! wink

Best Regards, Steve (The Grabber)
