There are several reasons that CMKX is a hot topic for discussion......
1. It has a lot of shareholders. 2. It has 703 Billion shares issued and outstanding. 3. It has been heavily promoted. 4. One of the co-chairmen is a former Howard Hughes employee and was involved in the failed plot to kill Castro among other things. 5. There are many detractors that think it is a huge scam.
One reply to you listed several points that need clarification as they are fanciful at best.
1) They have discovered the world's largest supply of diamonds. They have also discovered considerable gold and uranium.
CMKX has not discovered any diamonds. They haven't even looked very hard. The company has no commerically viable gold or uranium mines.
2) They have a huge naked short position. The short squeeze for such a large position would be dramatic.
There is no evidence of any naked short position let alone a huge one. There is considerable evidence that one does not exist. This is merely wishful thinking on the part of many longs.
3) CMKX management has a deep commitment to current shareholders and will do everything to maximize shareholder value. "Everything" could include a tender offer and taking the company private.
Management has paid a lot of lip service to shareholders but has actually done little in the way of any real action. No "tender offer" exists and one would be unlikely. Management does not have the capital to do it and no outside company would pay this kind of money for a company with no apprecialble revenues and little in the way of assets. It is a pipe dream.
4) The people who are short the stock have up till now co-opted the SEC. But there's hope that with exposure this unholy alliance will crumble.
Many longs are proponents of the grand conspiracy theory that alleges that many government agencies are out to get CMKX. These include the SEC, the DTC, the FBI, the CIA, and the President of the United States among others. All this for a pink sheet company.
Many longs think that they will see $0.54 a share or better for their stock - this would mean a market cap in excess of $375 Billion which would make CMKX larger than Exxon or GM. Many bashers think that this is a huge scam. Take your pick.
