You previously questioned the availability of of the Athlon XP 2700+. Seems Newegg.com has them in stock now. Of course who knows how long before they sell out.

So AMD legitimately pulls within 100 points of Intels free spinning P4, if not for a short time because next week the 3.06 Ghz P4 w/HT is announced. At that point AMD will be at a 400 point deficit and no hyperthreading hype.

The death of AMD my be yet premature?


The next big test for AMD will be getting 512k on the die. AMD has not shown they can do this without a small but significant MHz penalty
