Who cares what Intel gives away for free with their motherboard. Have you actually seen that software !

In the real world security credentials need to be portable.
I don't want my encrypted data tied only to my machine.
In my opinion and obviously most enterprises, including government fell that smartcards give the best in security and portability of credentials. Something TPM's cannot supply without a major system behind them.
Back to what I said. The TPM 1.2 / Longhorn boat is the only game worth considering. If wave misses that boat, ie are not an intimate working bundled / integrated part of that, then its over. IMO
