Could you cite one example of this so called "common" business practice? I've never heard of a drug or medical device company setting up a separate company with a different ownership structure just to market their products.
I have over twenty years experience in the medical industry, although the companies I dealt with were Bristol-Myers and Schering-Plough among others. I've also been on the board of Directors for various companies.
